Chickenpox


Chickenpox is a very contagious disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus, a member of the Herpesvirus group . It causes a blister-like rash, itching, tiredness and fever. It can be especially serious in babies, adults, and people with weakened immune systems. It is easily spread through coughing and sneezing. It can also be spread by touching or breathing in particles from chickenpox blisters. Vaccination can reduce the risk of chickenpox infection.
