Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is a tick-related illness caused mostly in eastern to mid-west regions of the United States. Symptoms usually begin a month after a tick bite and mimic those of other diseases, making it difficult to diagnose. Infection starts with a red rash near the tick bite. Fever, headache, fatigue, stiff neck, muscle and joint pain can follow. Lyme disease is treated with antibiotics.
