Streptococcal Toxic Shock Syndrome (STSS)
Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) is a rare, but severe, illness that arises from complications with Streptococcal Group A bacteria, (a disease that causes strep and mild illness). STSS can cause the following complications: kidney impairment, liver problems, sunburn rash that may peel, and the death of soft-tissue or muscle.
